This house was placed on the market for sale a few times in the past with no good luck. They heard from potential buyers  "the house is missing some landscape". For that reason, they were interested in having a landscape done with a very low garden maintenance, the clients were not interested in cutting the grass, fertilizing, and doing other landscaping duties to keep a decent lawn area; also the homeowners didn't want to spend too much money in water bills.
